Donald Trump was the target of a Twitter prank on Monday, after he was tricked into retweeting a photo he thought was that of the deceased parents of a fan. Turned out to be a photo of convicted serial killers.
‘My parents who passed away always said you were big inspiration. Can you pls RT for their memory?’ asked prankster Phil Bradbury, who goes by the Twitter name Feckhead.
The ever-generous Trump retweeted the photo, but it turned out that he just circulated a photo of Fred and Rosemary West, couple who were convicted in the mid-70s of torturing, raping and killing 10 girls. Fred killed himself before he was sentenced, and Rosemary is currently behind bars serving a life sentence.
On discovering the mishap, Trump deleted the tweet … but by then it has gone far and wide.
And he is obviously NOT happy about it.
‘Some jerk fraudulently tweeted that his parents said I was a big inspiration to them + pls RT—out of kindness I retweeted. Maybe I’ll sue,’ Trump tweeted.
