Phil Robertson says that those that practice ‘biblically correct sex’ – that is, sex between a married couple only – will never get STDs.
The Duck Dynasty patriarch made this comment during a sermon in Louisiana on Sunday, where he cited ‘orthodox liberal opinion’ as the cause of ‘ so many terrible, debilitating diseases.’
‘Biblically correct sex is safe,’ he preached. ‘It’s safe. You’re not going to get chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, AIDS.’
He continued, ‘If a man marries a woman, and neither of you have it, and you keep your sex between the two of you, you’re not going to get ever sexually transmitted diseases.’
‘Man meets woman, marries her, keeps his sex right there, the children come, the chances of them getting a sexually transmitted disease, would you say is almost zero? You can say it,’ he explained.
Now many online commenters are blasting Robertson for not recognizing that STDs can be transmitted by non-sexual ways … but the question still is: Can’t you see his point? Seems that people are still pissed that he got away with his anti-gay remarks … and has refused to apologize for calling homosexuality a sin.
