All the efforts Robin Thicke made to save his marriage has failed, as his wife Paula Patton has filed to divorce him after nearly 11 years of marriage.
Patton filed the divorce docs in Los Angeles last Friday, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’. She is also asking for joint custody of their 4-year old son Julian.
As ENTmania! reported, Paula announced her separation from Thicke in February due to the fallout that followed his infamous MTV VMAs performance with Miley Cyrus last year. But Thicke recently claimed that the split was due to the fact that he was ‘always drunk and high’ – not because of the performance.
Thicke famously tried all he could to win Patton back – cancelling his concerts to plead with her, sending her texts, and even dedicating a full music album to her name – all to no avail.
In July, Robin reportedly gave up, agreeing to a divorce but refusing to be the first to file the docs. This explains why it was Paula who filed the dreaded marriage-shattering papers.
The official date of their separation was listed as February 21.
