Amanda Bynes is currently on a 2-week involuntary psychiatric hold … but she may remain like that for a long time. This is because her doctors are planning to get a LPS hold which will enable them to confine her in involuntary treatment for up to one year.
But before that will happen, the doctors will have to convince the judge that Amanda is ‘gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder or impairment by chronic alcoholism.’ But this will likely not be a problem, since the doctors obtained the same hold on her last year when she was first placed on 5150 confinement after setting a driveway fire and drenching her dog with gasoline. That hold expired last month.
TMZ reports that the doctors will ask a judge for the hold within a week after she is fully diagnosed.
