Five teens have been arrested and are now facing criminal charges for allegedly taking part in a cruel Ice Bucket Challenge prank on an autistic boy in Ohio last month.
As ENTmania! reported, the 15-year old autistic boy was tricked into accepting the challenge, and the kids ended up dousing him with a mixture of feces, urine, spit and cigarette butts. They even went an extra mile by filming the humiliation using his phone and then posted it on Instagram.
The evil prank drew much media attention and world condemnation, with celebs like Dew Carey, Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg offering $10,000 each in reward for information that will lead to the arrest of the pranksters.
Cops reported that they found the kids last month, but they were not arrested because of the ongoing investigation. But on Tuesday local prosecutors announced that five kids between the ages 14 and 16 have been arrested. Three of them were charged with delinquency, assault and disorderly conduct and the other two face disorderly conduct charges.
‘The victim and the five charged juveniles were and are friends and classmates. They regularly associate with one another and, at times, engage in distasteful and sophomoric pranks,’ Bay Village prosecutor Duane Deskins said in a statement. ‘However, this incident is clearly different. It crossed a moral and legal line, and even the five alleged perpetrators understand that and have expressed regret.’
