Stephen Collins will not be charged with child molestation even though he confessed to sexually abusing three kids, it has been reported.
According to TMZ, sources from the New York Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles Police Department are all indicating that the case will go nowhere because the crimes the 7th Heaven star confessed to happened decades ago and has long passed the normal statutes of limitations (10 years).
Collins would have been charged if there were any recent incidents of child molestation involving him. So far, no victim has come forward. His estranged wife Faye Grant – who secretly recorded the audio confession that brought the case to light – also alleged that he sexually abused a minor recently using his 7th Heaven fame. But so far, no victim has come forward to corroborate her story.
