An Indian footballer tragically lost his life last week after his attempt to celebrate his goal with a Miroslav Klose somersault went horribly wrong.
23-year Peter Biaksangzuala had scored for Bethlehem Vengthlang FC against Chanmari West FC in the 62nd minute and then attempted to back-flip like the German player in celebration, only to land on his head, rendering him motionless on the pitch.
He was subsequently carried out and rushed to a nearby hospital … but he did not recover. He died on Sunday morning.
Hospital sources said he damaged his spinal cord during the back-slip.
