A woman was on Friday arrested in the Dominican Republic for smuggling $70,000 cash in her stomach.
A spokesman for the state’s National Drug Control Agency told The Associated Press that the 40-year old woman, whose name has not yet been released, touched down at the airport in Punta Cana from Brussels where she was arrested. According to Dominican officials, the $70,000 cash in her stomach was divided up in 16 capsules, which signifies that she was pushing the money for drug dealers.
In addition to the swallowed hard currency, the woman was also carrying $69,000 in her suitcase.
