A Russian man who dug up dead bodies of over 150 girls and dressed them up for parties has been placed on psychiatric treatment after it was determined that he was mentally incompetent to stand trial.
This week, the court heard that 46-year-old Anatoly Moskvin of Novgorod was arrested in 2011 after exhumed, dressed up bodies of over 150 girls were found in his house by his parents.
According to the police, Moskvin had visited more than 700 cemeteries in search of dead bodies of girls between ages 3 and 12.
After locating his choice bodies, Moskvin will then dig them up and take them to his house. There, he transformed them into mummies by dressing them up in different costumes for various occasions including weddings and borthday ceremonies. He even gave each of the bodies names and organized parties for them, the court heard.
Described as a ‘genius’ who can speak 13 languages, Moksvin even kept up-to-date information about the girls he had dug up and mummified … and he also wrote an instructions manual on his computer on how to create mummies using human remains.
‘After three years of monitoring him in a psychiatric clinic it is absolutely clear that Moskvin is not mentally fit for trial,’ the prosecutor said.’He will therefore be kept for psychiatric treatment at the clinic.’
