Amanda Bynes’s parents have obtained a new conservatorship over their daughter, who is still in hospital on an involuntary psychiatric hold – which was extended again this week.
According to TMZ, the actress’ parents secretly went to court and obtained the conservatorship after telling the judge that their daughter spent ‘alarming amounts’ of money in jewelry – and then giving them out to strangers.
According to the court documents, Bynes – whose net worth is approximately $5.7 million, $2.8 million of which is in landed property – spent huge amounts on ‘extensive’ array of gifts she gave away to people on the street. The documents also state that Amanda made only $144,768 last year from renting out one of her homes.
The documents also stated that Amanda is a ‘substantial risk’ to herself and others, citing her bizarre behavior in NYC and DUI arrest prior to her forced hospitalization.
Apparently the judge had no choice here.
