A Kentucky man who hired a hit man to kill his family is now on trial for killing the hit man because he did not want to pay him, it has been reported.
On Wednesday, 36-year old Ryan Champion was indicted for his role in the death of his parents and sister, as well as the killing of the 22-year old hit man Vito Reservato.
According to an initial report by local outlet WSMV, Champion claimed to be a victim of the shooting, saying that he simply escaped death because Reservato did not consider him a threat. He was even admitted to the hospital and then discharged on Sunday.
Four days after the shooting, however, police arrested Champion for the murders. Prosecutors have indicated that they will seek the death penalty.
