A 28-year old man is currently standing trial at the Winchester Crown Court, England for killing and dismembering his large father, and then using his body parts to construct a TV stand.
Nathan Robinson killed his 350 pound father William Spiller in May 2013 after an argument over money, BBC reports. Then with the aid of a knife, hacksaw and a saw, he cut up his big father’s body into pieces and packed some of them into storage boxes. These boxes he then piled up to form a TV stand.
Cops were alerted after William’s partner (pictured with him above) noticed that he had stopped replying to her texts. The body was only found a month later, after a neighbor noticed a ‘pink liquid’ oozing from his bathroom ceiling.
According to the neighbor, he had previously heard father and son arguing over money – and when he confronted the killer over the pink liquid, Robinson was ‘very calm, just normal, very collected’ as he answered the door.
The court also heard that after the killing, Robinson took at least £7,750 of his dad’s cash and went off on vacation, ‘drinking, eating and socialising’ with friends in Glasgow, while sending text messages purporting to come from his dead father. He later went to stay with his mother – who is estranged to his father – in Birmingham, where he was arrested.
Robinson has pleaded not guilty to murder, but cops to manslaughter due to diminished responsibility aka insanity.
