Janice Dickinson claims that Bill Cosby drugged and raped her after promising to help her career back in the 1980s.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the supermodel/TV personality said that in 1982, Cosby reached out to her while she was in rehab and offered to fly her to his home in Lake Tahoe, saying that they will discuss on how to help her career get back on track post rehab. Then after dinner, he gave her a glass of wine and what she says she thought was a pain killer pill, causing her to black out.
‘The next morning I woke up, and I wasn’t wearing my pajamas, and I remember before I passed out that I had been sexually assaulted by this man… Before I woke up in the morning, the last thing I remember was Bill Cosby in a patchwork robe, dropping his robe and getting on top of me,’ she claims.
Dickinson said she never confronted Cosby about the rape, but wanted to write about it in her 2002 memoir. But Cosby succeeded in getting his lawyer to convince her memoir publisher HarperCollins to not include the rape allegations.
For over a decade, Bill Cosby has been accused of raping several women between the ’70s and early 2000s. The allegations quieted down until last month, when fellow comedian Hannibal Buress resurrected the allegations during a stand-up set.
Since then, Cosby has refused to comment, saying that his talking will only ‘dignify’ the accusations.
Now why is Dickinson coming forward now? ‘I’m doing this because it’s the right thing to do, and it happened to me, and this is the true story,’she says.
