Bill Cosby has denied the allegation by supermodel Janice Dickinson that he raped her in his home shortly after she left rehab in 1982, saying through his attorney that she is a liar.
As ENTmania! reported, Dickinson told ET that the comedian drugged and raped her after promising to help her get her career back on track post rehab. She further claimed that she had wanted to publish the rape story in her memoir, but Cosby’s lawyers managed to convince book publisher HarperCollins to do otherwise.
But in a statement released on Wednesday, Cosby’s lawyer Mary Singer said, ‘Janice Dickinson’s story accusing Bill Cosby of rape is a lie. Documentary proof and Ms. Dickinson’s own words show that her new story about something she now claims happened back in 1982 is a fabricated lie.’
‘The only story she gave 12 years ago to the media and in her autobiography was that she refused to sleep with Mr. Cosby and he blew her off,’ Singer continued. ‘Her publisher HarperCollins can confirm that no attorney representing Bill Cosby tried to kill the alleged rape story (since there was no such story) or tried to prevent her from saying whatever she wanted about Bill Cosby in her book.’
Meanwhile, a clip of an interview Dickinson did with Howard Stern in 2006 was uploaded to YouTube on Wednesday (below), and in it you can hear her saying, ‘Bill Cosby was the only guy I couldn’t write about in the book because HarperCollins was afraid of lawsuits.’ Even though she did not directly accuse him of rape, she however said the following, ‘The guy’s a bad guy, let me just say that. He’s not a nice guy. He preys on women that have just come out of rehab, I’ll say that.’
