Iggy Azalea has blasted Eminem for seemingly threatening to rape her in his new song Vegas … even though we must admit that the offending lyrics may not actually be suggesting that.
In a clip of the song that leaked this week, Eminem can be heard rapping, ‘You’re lucky just to follow my ride/ If I let you run alongside the Humvee, unless you’re Nicki/ Grab you by the wrist, let’s ski/ So, what’s it gon’ be?/ Put that sh-t away, Iggy/ You gon’ blow that rape whistle on me.’
From ENTmania!‘s point of view, Eminem seems to be referring to the way Azalea frequently parades her big behind in music videos, which came to a head in Jennifer Lopez’ wet booty-slapping music video she featured in, appropriately called Booty.
But Azalea sees the lyrics as painting a scenario of an ‘old man’ threatening to ‘rape’ a successful, much younger female rapper which, to her, is just another example of how men in music harass successful female artistes and threaten them with abuse.
‘I’m bored of the old men threatening young women as entertainment trend and much more interested in the young women getting $ trend. zzzz,’ Azalea tweeted on Thursday. ‘It’s especially akward [sic] because my 14 year old brother is the biggest eminem fan and now the artist he admired says he wants to rape me. nice!’
‘Women in music have the bigger balls anyhow we endure much more harassment and critic. [sic] good morninnggggg!!!!!! off to camera block for AMAs!’ she finished.
