CM Punk says he was fired from WWE on his wedding day and for that and other reasons, he will never work for the wrestling company again.
The former WWE champion opened up for the first time after leaving the company back in January in The Art of Wrestling podcast with Colt Cabana, where he spoke at length on many issues, including the reason why he unceremoniously left.
According to him, he did not voluntarily quit WWE. Instead, he was fired … and the notice of his termination was delivered to him on his wedding day to WWE diva AJ Lee.
He also revealed he once threatened to sue the company over unpaid royalties and also indicated that he is done with professional wrestling.
‘They kept saying “your client is going to TNA, he’s going to TNA, and the brand is going to be “f**k WWE and this and this” and my lawyer was like “I’ll tell you right now, my client is not going to TNA. He absolutely despises professional wrestling and he wants nothing to do with it. He says he’s never going to wrestle again,”‘ Punk said, adding, ‘There’s no working relationship and there never will be ever again.’
