On Thanksgiving Day, Scott Stapp posted two more video statements on Facebook, where he addressed the latest allegations against him and announced the official start of his legal fight back against his oppressors.
The videos were shot outside the Boca Raton police building and in them, Stapp dismissed the claim that he is delusional and slammed the USA for making it very hard for children to grow in the Christian way.
‘Now, the process has officially begun and heads are getting ready to start rolling,’ he says in the second video. ‘And I say that in all humility — I’m not trying to be egotistical or arrogant at all, but there is a part of me that is going to feel relief that punishment’s on the way and individuals who have slandered me and stolen from me and physically threatened me and physically assaulted me are going to start doing their time, getting busted, getting caught.’
As ENTmania! reported, Stapp’s wife – who has filed for divorce and full custody of their three children – filed documents last week asking a judge to place her husband on a 60-day involuntary psych hold because he’s hooked to a vast number of drugs and doesn’t want to get help. Stapp has stated several times that he’s sober and from what we can see in the videos, there is no sign that indicates any psychiatric issues.
Below are the videos along with some choice quotes respectively taken from them by Stereogum:
I was pretty tired when I did that last post … As you probably know, more information has been put out on me. Texts that I didn’t write, more lies… The only thing that I can think of is that, when you’re talking about millions of dollars which … you know … it’s like winning the lottery … I was blessed and lucky to have sold that many records … but when you’re talking about that kind of money, you’ve got to remember that a lot of crazy stuff can happen when there’s been millions of dollars stolen. People get bribed, people who are insiders even at the bank…
When you can’t get any help from law enforcement, your federal government, or even local attorneys, what options am I left with? Except to make public statements like this and put it out on the internet and hope that someone’s going to realize that the rumors that have been spread about me are lies. I could really care less, except for how it’s affecting my children.
I guess it shocks me that there are people in this world that are evil. And that this country that we live in is so far removed from how it was founded. We’ve taken God out of everything — we won’t allow kids to pray to Christ or God in our public schools, but we sure will make allowances for Muslims and Hindus and Buddhists to have their freedom of religion. So we take Christianity out but then we inundate our children’s minds with the freedom of religion for everybody else. I mean, we’re humans, we’re made up of body, mind and soul. Right now, we have a generation of children and people all the way up to their fourties who have a complete soul sickness because God has been removed out of American culture and relegated to churches. Except for it’s printed on our money, because what I’m starting to realize is that’s really what’s become the God of America: money.
Now, the process has officially begun and heads are getting ready to start rolling. And I say that in all humility — I’m not trying to be egotistical or arrogant at all, but there is a part of me that is going to feel relief that punishment’s on the way and individuals who have slandered me and stolen from me and physically threatened me and physically assaulted me are going to start doing their time, getting busted, getting caught. I love this country, I appreciate law enforcement, I appreciate all the good people out there but this soul sickness is so deep right now that it’s just allowed evil to overcome people…
Stapp later took down the videos from his page and in their place, he put the following message: ‘I’m going to step back and let God control everything from here on. I should have continued to do that before I allowed my hurt, frustration, and emotions take control and post those videos. All I can say is that the truth will set you (me) free, and I’m holding on to Jeremiah 29:11 and Isaiah 44:8. This is a test of faith, and I will NEVER give up or lose my faith. No matter what. This will be my last statement until after justice is served. Love to you all my friends.’
What do you think about Stapp’s comments? Is his behavior abnormal? Does he need to be involuntarily confined in psychiatric treatment?
