Mark Wahlberg wants to wipe his criminal record clean because he wants to handle guns as a cop … it has been reported.
The actor recently filed docs with the Massachusetts Parole Board asking them to expunge the felony conviction he got in 1988 from his record. He got the conviction after beating up two men, leaving one of them partially blind.
26 years after the crime, Wahlberg is still a felon in the eyes of the law, which makes him ineligible to carry guns.
But according to multiple sources, Wahlberg now wants to be a reserve cop in Los Angeles … which means he will need guns, which he cannot carry because of his status as a felon.
According to TMZ, Wahlberg developed interest in cop duty after researching roles for movies like Max Payne, The Departed and The Other Guys.
