Angelina Jolie will not join in the promotion of her new movie Unbroken – which she directed – because she’s contracted the chicken pox virus … which can be serious considering her age.
Universal Pictures released a statement on her behalf on Friday, saying, ‘Angelina Jolie will be withdrawing from public events scheduled over the coming days due to a mild bout of chicken pox. She intends to resume her schedule and press engagements at the earliest opportunity. We all wish Angelina a speedy recovery and look forward to her returning to her work very soon. She is in very good spirits, considering after two years of hard work, she will not be there the night it finally premieres.’
Later on, the 39-year old actress posted a video statement on YouTube, where she says, ‘I just wanted to be clear and honest about why I will be missing the Unbroken events in the next few days. I found out last night that I have chicken pox, so I will be home itching and missing everyone, and I can’t believe it, because this film means so much to me. I just can’t believe it! But such is life.’
ENTmania! wishes her a speedy recovery.
