An armored truck with a faulty rear lock spilled as much as $4.5 million on a busy street in Hong Kong on Christmas Eve, prompting everybody from pedestrians and motorists to scramble for the free cash.
The incident occurred in a busy street in Wang Chai, HK, and the police report that as much as HK$15 million was lost in the scramble.
Officers have arrested two of the road users who took some of the spilled cash, and have already recovered HK$5.69 million (around $734,000) from the scene and elsewhere. They are calling on those who took the spilled money to return them immediately or most likely face the wrath of the law if they get apprehended.
