A 12-year old Russian schoolboy was supposed to play Joseph the father of Jesus in his school’s nativity play, but he mistakenly misled his parents into dressing him up as Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin.
According to Metro, Ilya Gavrichenko went home and told his parents that he has landed the role of Joseph Stalin in his school’s nativity play. So the parents got him a Stalin costume, complete with a ‘perfect’ mustache … and the little dude was all set to go.
However, on the D-day, the mistake was quickly realized … but with no replacement outfit available, the boy decided to go ahead with the play dressed like Stalin.
According to Ilya’s dad Fedor, most parents found the mix-up to be ‘hilarious’ – but he understandably felt pity for his son, who was not feeling too good about the whole thing.
‘Each time he went out on stage, the mothers were in hysterics, crying and yowling from somewhere under their chairs,’ Fedor said. ‘My son was lost because of mixing up the part he was playing, and feeling guilty for having done so.’
