Teresa Giudice has checked into prison to begin her sentence for fraud.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star surrendered to authorities at Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury at around 3 am on Monday. There she will be for 15 months.
‘She was ready. Teresa is a very strong woman, she won’t have any problems in there,’ said her attorney James J. Leonard Jr. in a statement. ‘When we arrived at Danbury, everyone we encountered was extremely courteous and respectful.’
Last year, Teresa and her husband Joe were convicted for bankruptcy and mortgage fraud. She got 15 months behind bars, while her husband got 41 months. The judge arranged for the sentence to be served in such a way that one of them will be around for their daughters while the other is locked up.
