Lil Wayne and Birdman have reportedly failed to settle their professional differences … and now they are going to face each other in court.
As ENTmania! reported, Wayne has publicly declared his intention to leave the Cash Money record label, accusing Birdman, its CEO, of deliberately delaying the release of his album. In turn, Birdman declared that Wayne is legally bound to remain in the label, threatening to sue should he leave. He also said Wayne’s album will be released when all the administrative paperwork has been done.
According to TMZ, the two former friends met this week to try to resolve their issues … but the talks failed. So Wayne will ask a judge to nullify the contract he signed for Birdman because the latter violated it by delaying the release of his album.
In addition, Wayne is asking for $8 million, which he says is the advance of his album that Birdman owes him.
