Conrad Hilton III, Paris Hilton’s younger brother, is currently facing 20 years in prison for getting into an 11-hour, violent meltdown during a flight from London to Los Angeles back in July, it has been reported.
On Tuesday, the 20-year old was arrested in connection with the incident, which involved him harassing the British Airways flight crew and saying things like:
- ‘If you wanna square up to me bro, then bring it and I will f**king fight you.’
- ‘I am going to f**king kill you.’
- ‘I will f**king rip through you.’
- ‘I will f**king own anyone on this flight; they are f**king peasants.’
Eyewitnesses say he repeatedly punched the bulkhead section of the plane inches away from an attendant’s face, had tried to punch another attendant, and had even threatened the co-pilot. At one point, he held an attendant by his shirt and shouted, ‘I could get you all fired in five minutes … I know your boss! My father will pay this out. He has done it before. Dad paid $300,000 last time.’
He eventually fell asleep after about 11 hours of aggressiveness, and the crew had him restrained and handcuffed to his seat.
TMZ reports that almost immediately after the chaotic flight, Conrad checked himself into rehab for a 30-day drug and alcohol treatment program. He also told the FBI that he wasn’t drinking during the flight, and had only taken sleeping pills.
According to Conrad’s lawyer Robert Shapiro, Conrad had taken a sleeping pill before boarding the flight, and that his behavior was possibly the result of the adverse effects of the pill. But eyewitnesses told TMZ that Conrad had smoked weed in the plane’s bathroom so it was the weed’s effect, not the pill.
Now according to Washington Post, Conrad faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. A judge on Tuesday released him on a $100,000 bail and ordered him to return to court in March.
