Amy Pascal is leaving her post as Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman, it has been reported.
According to multiple sources, Pascal’s exit from the top seat was part of an agreement she reached with Sony CEO Michael Lynton a few weeks ago. According to the agreement, Pascal will now head a major production deal that focuses on movies, television and theater.
Pascal has been in the middle of the massive hacking scandal that rocked the company last year, with the buzz centering mainly on the leaked emails that exposed certain exchanges she had with colleagues over projects like the failed Jobs and Cleopatra. That said, her leaving the post has not been connected with the scandal.
Pascal will leave her current post in May.
