‘#TheDress’ – whose color generated a crazy ton of online debate since Thursday night – is blue and black, it has been clarified.
The insane debate began after a woman posted a photo of the dress on Twitter and asked people to identify its color. From there, the whole thing exploded … with many people claiming the color is white and gold, while others said blue and black.
The bizarre argument drew the attention of everybody from teens to visual specialists … and was even discussed as part of school lessons in some places. While all these took place, Roman Originals – the company who owns the dress – were busy making HUGE profits.
Finally, Laura Coleman, the model who first wore the dress for promotion’s sake, posted the photo on Instagram with the explanation, ‘Okay so I was the first to wear this dress and just to confirm it’s definitely black and blue! #thedress.’ A rep for Roman Originals later confirmed the dress color as blue and black, adding that the dress also comes in ivory, scarlet, pink and royal-blue variants. There is NO white and gold version.
So it is settled?
Oh … and for those who still insist the dress is white and gold:
