A 7 months pregnant woman in Colorado was viciously attacked and her baby ripped from her womb after she answered a Craigslist ad about baby’s clothing.
According to the Daily Times-Call, the horrific crime was committed on Wednesday afternoon inside a home in Longmont. Responding officers heard the 26-year old woman screaming inside the home and when they went in, they found her with stab wounds to her stomach and her unborn baby missing. She was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital, where she underwent surgery and is now recuperating.
Later, the 34-year old suspect, who is believed to have posted the ad, arrived to the same hospital with the removed (and now dead) baby, telling medical workers that she suffered a miscarriage. Her unsuspecting husband was the one who drove her to the hospital with the baby.
Police quickly arrested the suspect, identified as Dynel Catrece Lane (above), on charges of first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and child abuse knowingly and recklessly resulting in death. Her husband, who later returned to the scene, was not arrested nor is he a suspect.
‘This is a tragic case for a mother right now,’ said Police commander Jeff Satur.
