Chris Brown is finally a free man, as a judge on Friday released him from the probation he got for beating Rihanna back in 2009.
As you will remember, Brown’s probation in this particular case had been revoked multiple times due to his frequent run-ins with the wrong side of the law. And as recently as January this year, the judge revoked the probation because the prosecutor complained that Brown was present in two separate nightclubs where people got shot … and did not seek permission before leaving Los Angeles for San Jose, which was a violation of his probation. They felt the singer was not serious in completing his probation, and asked the judge to throw him in jail.
But on Friday, the same prosecutors had a big change of heart and withdrew their previous recommendation. Instead, they submitted a new report attesting that he had completed all his probation obligations and that he gave a satisfactory reason why he did not contact them before leaving for San Jose. That was enough for the judge to declare Brown probation-free after 6 long, tortuous years.
‘IM OFF PROBATION!!!!!!!! Thank the Lord!!!!!!’ an elated, very relieved Brown tweeted shortly after the hearing.
