A street artist known as Plastic Jesus has erected multiple ‘No Kardashian Parking’ signs around Hollywood in an attempt to send a message to media outlets who prefer running after celebrities who contribute virtually nothing meaningful to the society to real news.
The signs were nailed onto street poles near frequented areas, including in front of the Kardashian-owned Dash boutique, as you can see above.
Plastic Jesus, who was also the guy behind the the Cocaine-snorting Oscar statue placed in front of the February Oscars venue and others, told The Hollywood Reporter that he decided to do the satiric public art after witnessing how the press swarmed the Kardashians on an L.A street. ‘I guarantee that same number of paparazzi was far greater than any number of photographers chasing real news,’ he said. ‘The Kardashian family has become ingrained in our culture. We’ve allowed mainstream media to become so profit-driven, we are sacrificing genuine news stories to satiate our vapid celebrity obsessions.’
Gossip Cop reports that a source close to the family dismissed the stunt as the work of ‘an artist trying to get famous.’
