A 101-year old Nepalese man was this weekend found alive beneath the rubble of what used to be his house exactly a week after a devastating earthquake that left thousands dead.
According to multiple reports, Funchu Tamang was pulled out by rescue workers on Saturday, the same day Nepalese officials basically ruled out the possibility of finding any more survivors. He only sustained minor injuries to his hand and ankle … and was flown to the hospital in a stable condition.
Three other people, including a woman, were also rescued around the same time.
The magnitude 7.8 earthquake is still sending aftershock waves across the country and as at Sunday, the death toll has risen to 7,250, with officials saying it could rise ‘much higher.’
