Hope Solo’s husband Jerramy Stevens has been sentenced to 30 days in jail stemming from a DUI arrest where he drove Team USA football team’s van.
As ENTmania! reported, the former NFL player was arrested in Manhattan Beach, CA in January for driving while drunk, with his wife Solo with him in the vehicle. Both of them were reportedly difficult to handle during the arrest, and tried to play the celebrity card, which failed. Stevens’ blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.
Following the arrest, Team USA suspended Solo from the team for 30 days.
Aside from the jail sentence, Stevens was sentenced to 4 years probation and 2 years of outpatient alcohol treatment programme in Washington.
The judge also issued a warning that should he cause someone’s death for DUI, he will be charged with murder instead of vehicular manslaughter. This warning was issued because this will be the second time that he has been convicted of DUI.
Stevens began his jail sentence on Friday.
Stevens has been released early from jail partly due to good behavior. All he now has to do is to complete the remaining parts of his sentence.
