Casey Kasem’s widow Jane Kasem will not be prosecuted for elder abuse, it has been reported.
As ENTmania! previously reported last year, the LAPD launched an elder abuse investigation against Jane after Kasem’s children from a previous marriage filed a report accusing her of not taking proper care of their father, who was down with progressive dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease. After Kasem died, Jane took the body first to Canada, and then to Norway, where it was finally buried. The police request for an autopsy became impossible after that.
TMZ reports that a court sitting in Los Angeles has dismissed the case, saying that Jean did take good care of her husband and that ‘The development of a bedsore by itself is insufficient evidence of abuse or neglect.’
