Dustin Diamond has been convicted in the bar stabbing incident that happened Port Washington, Wisconsin on Christmas Day 2014.
A court on Friday found the Saved by the Bell actor guilty of disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon, both misdemeanors. He was however, acquitted of the more serious felony charge of recklessly endangering safety.
As ENTmania! reported, Diamond was involved in an altercation with a couple at the Grand Ave. Saloon … an altercation which was originally between his fiancee Amanda Schutz and a woman. Schutz was reportedly the first to get physical and after the other woman punched her, Diamond rose up to ‘defend’ her.
The actor claimed in court that he brought out his pocketknife and simply waved it, without any intentions to stab anyone. But he ended up slashing bar patron Casey Smet, who left the place without even knowing that he had just been stabbed.
With this conviction, Diamond now faces a maximum of 9 months in jail.
