Conrad Hilton will not be jailed for 20 years after pleading guilty to assaulting attendants during an 11-hour violent meltdown while aboard an international flight last July.
Paris Hilton’s younger brother was on Monday sentenced to three years probation and 750 hours of community service. He was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and enter a program for mental and substance abuse treatment.
This sentence was only possible thanks to a sweet plea deal the 21-year old struck with prosecutors shortly after his arrest in February this year, which required him to plead guilty to misdemeanor simple assault. In exchange, the felony charge of disrupting an international flight – which would have earned him a 20 years in jail sentence – was dropped.
During the sentencing, Brandon apologized for his behavior and promised it would never happen again.
