Jake Lloyd, the actor who played the young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace has been arrested after leading police in a wild car chase in Charleson, South Carolina.
Whether he is on the police wanted list is uncertain, but TMZ reports that the Sheriff’s deputies started pursuing him as he was driving on the road. This led to a wild car chase that lasted for miles, with Lloyd passing cars on the double yellow line in high speed.
The chase even extended into another county, where Lloyd eventually lost control and plowed his car through a fence and onto a bunch of trees in a wooded area. He was was subsequently arrested for reckless driving, failure to stop, resisting arrest and driving without a license.
As at the time of this report, Lloyd is currently in custody.
Lloyd quit acting a few years after the 1999 release of the Star Wars franchise, saying that the fame the movie brought him made his childhood ‘a living hell.’
