More details have emerged about the arrest of Jake Lloyd, the former child actor most famous for playing Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.
As ENTmania! previously reported, the 26-years old was arrested after leading cops in a high-speed chase that ended when he crashed into trees. We had previously speculated that he probably had a warrant out for his arrest, but now we’ve learned that it was all about speeding.
According to TMZ, Lloyd was driving in Charleston, South Carolina last week at 80 mph, which prompted cops on duty to start pursuing him. Instead of stopping, he revved the Nissan engine and sped off at an incredible 110 mph, narrowly missing other cars and trucks on the road and overtaking using the median yellow line.
As you know already, the chase extended into another county, where it ended after he hit some trees. He was then arrested and charged with reckless driving, failure to stop, resisting arrest and driving without a license.
