A woman from Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, UK, sleepwalked for more than a mile and into the sea, it has been reported.
Marie Lord, 39, woke up at around 1:30 am local time, let herself out of the house, walked many streets and even climbed a set of steep steps she normally can’t climb without her husband’s help. From there she walked into the sea and remained sleeping there until she was awoken by the salty taste of the water and the cold waves beating her body.
Once she awoke and realized where she was, she let out a cry for help … and a night porter working at a hotel near the beach heard it and called emergency services, who came and rescued her.
More shocking is the fact that Marie is not a regular sleepwalker. According to her, the last time she sleepwalked was when she was 13 years old.
