Lucasfilm and Disney, the owners of the Star Wars franchise, are unhappy with Amy Schumer for posing in provocative photos for a men’s magazine with the movie’s popular robot characters.
Amy Schumer did a ‘funny and sexy’ Star Wars themed photo shoot for GQ magazine, featuring her posing topless in bed and smoking with robot characters R2-D2 and C-3PO. Other photos show the Trainwreck actress sucking on the Jedi’s lightsaber, sucking on C-3PO’s finger and partying with the characters in what looks like a gay bar or a men’s strip party.
So reacting to the photos which were released on Thursday, the Star Wars’ official Twitter account tweeted on Friday, ‘Lucasfilm & Disney didn’t approve, participate in or condone the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner’ … and this was in response to complaints from fans, who were pissed that a family-oriented company like Disney will allow someone to use their characters for sexually provocative photo shoots.
Neither Schumer nor GQ has responded to the outrage.
