A meth user in California was arrested on Tuesday after he broke into a zoo and began swinging on trees, screaming, ‘I am Tarzan!’
A 911 call made by Santa Ana Zoo Director Kent Yamaguchi describes in detail the series of events that transpired, beginning from when the shirtless, mud covered dude scaled the zoo’s aviary, then a 20-foot wall overlooking a monkey exhibit, before climbing down and settling on a bamboo.
‘We have a gentleman who appears to be under the influence of something and is climbing in our trees and jumping into animal exhibits,’ said Yamaguchi in the 911 call, adding that ‘He climbed up into the tree and then proclaimed himself that he was “Tarzan,” and that he was here just to have a good time.’
Responding police officers later arrested 37-year-old John William Rodenborn after a short chase. Officers say he had crystal methampethamine on him and was most likely under the influence of the drug.
