WWE legend Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka has been charged with 3rd degree murder and involuntary manslaughter over the death of his girlfriend 32 years ago.
Snuka was arrested at his home in New Jersey and booked over the death of girlfriend Nancy Argentino in 1983. According to investigators, the 72-year old lied to authorities about the events that led to her death.
According to TMZ, Snuka told investigators back then that he and Nancy were ‘fooling around’ in their motel room at Allentown, Pennsylvania and fell after he playfully pushed her, striking her head. But in his 2012 autobiography Superfly: The Jimmy Snuka Story, Snuka said Nancy slipped and fell on her own while going into a bathroom at a rest stop.
This sharp inconsistency caught the eye of investigators, who were forced to reopen the case due to pressure from Nancy’s family. Cops say they now have enough evidence to prove that Snuka actually handed a vicious beatdown on Nancy, which directly led to her death.
Snuka is currently free after posting $100,000 bail.
