A camerawoman working for a Hungarian TV station has been fired after videos and photos emerged of her kicking and tripping refugees fleeing police detention at the Hungarian-Serbia border.
Petra Laszlo, who works for Hungaria’s N1TV, was filmed and photographed by other reporters tripping and kicking the refugees – most of whom are fleeing the war in Syria – as they escaped from police who had been holding them there for hours. The most shocking part of the whole thing is the fact that none of the refugees did anything to her to warrant the assault.
Among her victims was a man carrying his child, and at least another child.
Videos and photos of Laszlo’s behavior has since gone viral, resulting in her getting fired by N1TV.
‘Today, a N1TV colleague behaved unacceptably at the Roszke reception centre,’ the station said in a statement on Facebook. ‘The cameraman’s employment was terminated with immediate effect.’
News of her sacking has not pacified many people, who are calling for her arrest for assault and abuse.
