Manu Bennett – who played Azog in The Hobbit and Slade Wilson in Arrow – was arrested for knocking a man out cold after getting drunk at a Comic Con after-party on Saturday night.
According to the police report, Bennett and a group of friends were drinking and having a good time in a San Antonio, Texas hotel room, until he was asked to leave for drinking too much and ‘causing a scene.’
As he was leaving, he stared down at 29-year old party guest Craig Brown, who was standing near the door. The confused Brown then asked, ‘What?’ and in response, Bennett punched him in the face, breaking his nose.
Police were called, who on arrival were shown Bennett’s room. According to police, Bennett – who also stars in Spartacus – claimed not to remember what happened, before changing his story to self-defense.
He was arrested for assault causing bodily injury, and released on bail the next day.
