Lindsay Lohan’s lawsuit against Fox News Channel for claiming that she and her mother Dina did cocaine together has been tossed out by the court.
As ENTmania! previously reported, Lindsay and her mom filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News earlier this year over a comment made on Hannity by a guest back in February 2014. The guest, Michelle Fields, had said, ‘Lindsay Lohan’s mom is doing cocaine with her,’ calling Dina her enabler.
Lindsay and her mom called Fields’ comment ‘a blatantly false, malicious, defamatory and reckless statement’ and demanded Fox take down the blog post and apologize. The network took down the blog post but refused to apologize, saying in its response that the duo were indeed cocaine addicts, and it can’t be held liable for a guest’s comments as a media outlet.
On Friday, the judge agreed with Fox, saying, ‘Truth is a defense.’ He also said that Fields’ comment was not made maliciously.
Fact is, Lindsay herself once made a frantic phone call to her dad to tell him that ‘mom’s on cocaine.’ Audio of that phone call was leaked earlier this year.
Lindsay’s camp has not commented on the ruling.
