Spencer Stone, one of the three men who stopped a terror attack on a French train in August 21, was stabbed multiple times in Sacramento, California on early Thursday morning.
According to The Sacramento Bee, Stone was stabbed repeatedly in the chest around midnight while trying to protect a lady friend from a group of six drunk men at a gay nightclub. Video of the incident (below) shows the 23-year old Air Force serviceman (the bigger guy in a white shirt) fighting three other men, and the moment he was stabbed.
According to the US Air Force, Stone has been hospitalized with serious injuries. He is reportedly stable and expected to survive.
Spencer rose to fame after he helped disarm gunman Ayoub El-Khazzani, who was allegedly planning to open fire on the passengers heading to Amsterdam from Paris. El-Khazzani has denied being a terrorist, claiming that he was just a homeless man who wanted to rob the passengers to feed himself.
This incident is not related to terrorism in any way, and we know it’s not related to what occurred in France months ago,’ said Sacramento Deputy Police Chief Ken Bernard at a press briefing. ‘It’s believed that Mr. Stone was out in the area with a group of friends last night when a physical altercation led to him being stabbed. Immediately after the assault the suspects fled the scene.’
